Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine & the Kinship Program
Adoptive & Foster Families of Maine & the Kinship program provide statewide services to Resource Families that include: 24/7 Warmline, Peer to Peer foster parent mentoring, Training, Foster parent appreciation events, Allegation support, Kinship family support and more.
A Family For Me Heart Gallery
A Family for ME is a partnership between the Department of Health and Human Services and Spurwink Services, with the focus of raising awareness of the urgent need and finding Maine families who are willing and able to parent children in foster care.
A Place Called H.O.M.E.
A Place Called H.O.M.E. exists to serve the multifaceted and critical needs of older youth (16-26) who are aging out or have aged out of Maine’s foster care system and find themselves in need of a support system. Our primary goal is to create, offer and deliver multiple opportunities for youth who are interested in participating in any of our many initiatives.
Camp to Belong Maine
Camp to Belong is a non-profit organization dedicated to reuniting siblings that have separated while in foster care, by providing a week of summer camp just for them.
Childhood Won’t Wait
Childhood Won’t Wait is a grassroots group of families and individuals with experience with the foster care system and a desire to improve the experience for everyone involved: children, birth families, foster families, adoptive families, providers, and programs.
Treatment Foster Care is driven by a treatment team that strives to give optimal support to foster homes as they care for children in foster care with mild to moderate behavioral needs.
Project Sparrow is a nonprofit located in Central Maine that advocates for and supports at-risk children being raised in the state’s foster care system. Our mission is to emphasize each child’s inherent value and worth, to empower them to reach their fullest potential, and to work to end the generational cycle of children being raised in this system. It is the vision of Project Sparrow to see that every waiting child in the state of Maine be adopted into a “forever” family.
Southern Maine Foster Family Recruitment Team
The Southern Maine Foster Family Recruitment Team is a joint venture of private and public agencies currently providing a variety of foster care services to Maine’s children. The collaborative seeks to raise awareness of the need for foster homes and provide support and training to foster families.
